Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Carrier Atlas (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site. We may update these terms from time to time; the updated terms take effect when posted on this page.

Description of service

Carrier Atlas operates a freight industry news publication, a public directory of motor carriers and freight brokers sourced from FMCSA records, and related editorial and software resources. The Site is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

Carrier directory data

Information about motor carriers, freight brokers, and other businesses listed in our directory is sourced from public Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) data and other public records. While we make reasonable efforts to keep this information current, we make no warranty as to its accuracy or completeness. Carriers and brokers may change status, ownership, or operating authority at any time. Always verify a carrier's authority and insurance directly with FMCSA SAFER and the carrier's certificate-of-insurance provider before tendering a load.

News content

Editorial content on Carrier Atlas is reported and written by our staff or attributed authors and reflects our editorial judgment. We follow our published editorial standards. Errors, when identified, are addressed per our corrections policy. News articles are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute legal, financial, regulatory, or operational advice.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Site or its data to harass, defame, defraud, or otherwise harm any motor carrier, broker, individual, or organization listed.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site, the underlying systems, or the accounts of other users.
• Scrape, harvest, copy, or systematically extract content or directory data without our prior written consent. Public APIs and feeds (RSS, sitemaps) may be used in accordance with their stated rate limits and terms.
• Republish or commercially redistribute editorial content without permission. Linking to articles is welcome and encouraged.
• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Site.
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent contact information, news tips, or correction requests.

Intellectual property

All editorial content, page layouts, graphics, logos, and trademarks on the Site are owned by Carrier Atlas or its licensors and are protected by U.S. and international copyright and trademark law. The "Carrier Atlas" name and logo are trademarks of Carrier Atlas. Public-record data (such as FMCSA carrier records) is not subject to our copyright but our compilation, presentation, and editorial annotation of that data is protected.

Brief excerpts of editorial content may be quoted under fair use with attribution to Carrier Atlas and a link to the original article. Bulk republication, syndication, and licensing inquiries should be directed to [email protected].

Third-party links and services

The Site contains links to third-party websites and services (including software vendors, load boards, ELD providers, and carrier onboarding platforms) for informational purposes. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party content, products, or services. Your transactions with any third party are between you and that party.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Carrier Atlas, its officers, employees, contributors, and affiliates disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Carrier Atlas shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Site or any data, articles, or third-party services accessed through the Site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Decisions you make based on information from Carrier Atlas — including booking freight, vetting carriers or brokers, purchasing software, or making operational changes — are made at your own risk and discretion.

User submissions

If you submit a news tip, correction request, message, or any other content to Carrier Atlas, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, and publish that content for editorial and operational purposes, subject to the source-protection commitments described in our editorial standards. You represent that you have the right to submit the content and that it does not violate any third party's rights.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Carrier Atlas harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Site, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of any third-party right.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Site, in whole or in part, at our discretion, for any reason, including violation of these terms. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Spokane County, Washington, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
