Envoy AI launched Ellie Workforce on Tuesday, a platform that autonomously sources carriers, negotiates rates, verifies compliance, collects documents, and monitors shipments for freight brokerages.

The San Francisco company calls it an operating system for autonomous freight execution. The platform runs in a web browser and integrates with existing transportation management systems, email, load boards, carrier networks, and compliance platforms.

Ellie Workforce performs routine freight tasks without human input. It reaches out to carriers, negotiates freight rates, checks compliance, collects shipping documents, coordinates communications, and tracks shipments. The system escalates exceptions that require human judgment while employees maintain oversight.

Michael Cherney, co-founder and CEO of Cooler Logistics, said his company has already deployed the technology. The platform is powered by Envoy AI's Transportation Observability and Action System (TOAS), which continuously gathers operational context and coordinates actions across connected systems.
